B. R. (Ralph) SUTHERLAND Ralph Sutherland retired as a Sergeant from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police having completed 27 years of dedicated loyal service. During his career his duties included investigating a wide range of criminal investigations from minor to major high profile criminal offenses, including fraud, theft, vandalism to properties, break and enters, drug, homicide, and other police activities that involved many security services. He led major investigations against crime, battling to make communities safer for all residents. This experience included minor investigations, as well as major investigations, covert investigations, development and use of informants, intelligence targeting, specializing in the area of Aboriginal Policing in Canada. Being in charge of several RCMP Detachments in Manitoba was his career highlight strengthening his administrative experience.  During his extensive policing career he has worked closely with numerous private security companies, in-house security

companies and is also a qualified and designated trainer provider for the Province of Manitoba’s Security Guard Training Program under The Private Investigators and Security Guards Act. As a result of his dedicated service Ralph was awarded the Royal Canadian Mounted Police’s Long Service Medal for exemplary service for serving members of the RCMP with service over 25 years. He is currently a founding president in the firm “Sutherland Security Incorporated”, a fully licensed bonded private security guard, and private investigative company, offering a wide range of security related services in the Interlake Region of Manitoba, as well as any other community in the Province of Manitoba, whether it be in the rural or urban setting. He has been happily married to his wife, Janice for the past 24 years, and has three daughters, Kathy, Rebecca and Shayleece, and one grand daughter, Jett Astrylla. Ralph believes in providing a much needed service that will make a difference in the communities that he provides security services thereby making our homes, across our Province of Manitoba the best place in Canada to live, and raise our families.
